LBC - Scintillator Crystal
LBC - Lanthanum BromoChloride, doped with Cerium is a newly released generation of inorganic scintillator based gamma radiation detectors. LBC scintillator crystals have fast light output decay times provide excellent energy resolution performance.
LBC scintillator crystals have:
- Fast decay times - 35nsec
- High light outputs - 70,000 Photons/MeV
- The capability to achieve excellent Energy Resolution - 3%@662keV
- Optical outputs with good linearity with temperature
- The capacity to deal with high count rates
- Excellent radiation hardness
LBC scintillator crystals - issues to be aware of:
- Hygroscopic and therefor require encapsulation
LBC scintillator crystals are useful for applications such as:
- Security - cargo inspection
- Medical - SPECT
- Industrial - Well logging
- Nuclear and high energy physics - specialist applications
