Chromox Fluorescent Screens
Chromox Fluorescent Screens - AF995R - are formulated from alumina (Aluminium Oxide) ceramic, lightly doped with Chromium Oxide. These screens have been utilized at CERN, DESY, ILC etc and proven over several decades in high energy beam diagnostic applications. They are physically robust and able to withstand the effects of high energy beams and the corresponding high operating temperatures.
Chromox Fluorescent Screens:
- Scintillate at 694nm (Decay Time: 3.4ms) and 691nm (Decay Time: 6.7ms)
- Have a high photon yield: 5 x 10⁴ photons/MeV
- Are sensitive down to 10 protons/cm²
- Have good response linearity
- Are resistant to high levels of radiation (up to 10⁹ protons/mm²)
- Have extensive operation history
